Melo D

Born in south of Angola and raised in Lisbon. Funk, Soul and Jazz mixed with Angolan and Brazilian music are the elements that defines Melo D as a musician. Singer, songwriter, pioneer of the hip hop movement in Portugal with his former group Family, Melo D has the stage as his natural habitat. Together with Cool Hipnoise he recorded two of the most important albums of the portuguese modern music “Nascer do Soul”, 1995 and “Missao Groove”,1998. In 2003 he started his solo career with the album “Outro Universo” for Loop Recordings, proving his skills as songwriter. In 2005 he joined forces with the Enchufada family to create “Chega de Saudade” where he unleashed his african roots as he had never done before. MYSPACE MELO D
