Macacos do Chinês are Alexandre Talhinhas a.k.a. Alx – Electric Guitar,Vocals-, André Pinheiro a.k.a. Apache – Production, bass Guitar, Keyboards and wind instruments, Miguel Pité a.k.a. Skillaz – Vocals/Mc and lyrics, Tiago Morna compositions and Portuguese Guitar.
They define themselves as a dynamic and relaxed Project that has the ability to be innovative and the same time aware of the reality that surrounds them.
Their first public appearance was January 2007, where they introduced their early work as an EP, which was named “Plutão” released by Enchufada Record Label.
Influenced by an urban sound and the legacy of the Portuguese culture, step by step the band managed to collect a bunch of sounds that culminated in to a consistent, interesting and creative product with a fresh new sound.
Macacos do Chinês have been acclaimed for their live shows.Throughout the last two years they have managed to play to audiences diverse as Rock in Rio Lisboa, an average of 10.000.00 people, to Cargo in London, Eurocultured in Manchester, Bayreuth festival in Munique and many other shows in Portugal.Being on the road gave them maturity and strength as a band and allowed them to achieve the objective of the past two years. Their first Album.Ruídos Reais is the union of styles and music genera’s that influences every member of the band. It is diverse and multi-ethnic; going from a soul, funk grooveness to Dubstep, Hip-Hop, Grime or even simple pop tune’s. With the particularity of the Portuguese Guitar, present in almost every song and used in ways that few has manage to input in music.As today’s culture is a melting pot of innate characteristics the band considers their music as a filter between what they capture from the reality that surrounds them and their day-to-day life.
