We gathered artists from Lisbon to Luanda, put it all on a CD and called it E-SPAM.

There’s no concept. Just music that we like. The CD will be available with Blitz Magazine for Portugal in March and features songs from Buraka Som Sistema, Orelha Negra, PAUS, Macacos do Chinês, Octa Push, Roulet, and many more… The digital release will also be available on all the usual shops around the same time.

As you know we like to party, so we scheduled a couple of launch partyes to complete the package!!

On March 4th we take over Lux, in Lisbon, with a live performance from PAUS followed by a hand-full of DJ’s that will keep you busy all night!!!! Macacos do Chinês (DJ SET), J-WOW (Buraka Som Sistema), Zombies for Money and our guest of honor Douster. Douster is a French young producer who lives in Bueno Aires for the better part of the last 2 years. From remixing Rusko, Nouveau Yorican, Gucci Mane to his own Triassic EP he has produced something completly new and fresh. Lazer Bass Cumbia Reggaeton? The next day, March 5th, it’s time to hit Plano B, in Porto! DJ Riot (Buraka Som Sistema), Octa Push (DJ SET) and an exclusive Live show from PAUS! PAUS is a 4 piece band where Helio Morais (Linda Martini) and Quim Albergaria (Vicious 5) play a siamese drum set, together with Mokoto (If Lucy fell) on the bass and Shela on keyboards and all of them try to sing…

The BBC reported “It is described as the story of how an eccentric French shop keeper turned documentary maker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on him”.

Banksy said: “It’s the story of how one man set out to film the un-filmable. And failed”. He later elaborated to the Guardian “It’s a film about a man who tried to make a film about me. Everything in it is true, especially the bits where we all lie.”

“Bazuka” is Batida’s first single and you can see it here.

Batida is a radio show broadcasted by the Fazuma family that, since 2007, promotes their favourites on everything Afro or Afro inspired urban music.

On Fazuma’s own words “This time, we dived into the ar­chives of RTP Africa. The idea was to se­lect images that il­lus­trate the hidden story behind “Ba­zuka”, the track that started “Dance Mwan­golé”. We hand-​picked and mixed his­to­rical fo­o­tage, with some con­tem­po­rary images we col­lected over the last ye­ars. Others were sam­pled from of our do­cu­men­tary “É Dreda Ser An­go­lano”. Then we took some graphics that Roda made for the cd, Limão made a few extra il­lus­tra­ti­ons, Ma­caco Simão did the ani­ma­tion and it was con­cluded with some post pro­duc­tion. The need to make this video in­cre­a­sed, be­cause most pe­ople couldn’t get the mi­nimal story behind “Ba­zuka”.
So here it is: “Ba­zuka” is based on the tes­ti­mony of a po­pular in our do­cu­men­tary “É Dreda Ser An­go­lano”, who raises an unanswered ques­tion: “Who drafted me?” He was “drafted” as a child, or re­cruited and forced to fight in war, got lost from his fa­mily and sur­vived with se­rious he­alth pro­blems. We found him in Lu­anda in 2005. He has a name. He is the unk­nown sol­dier. Has “got two pi­eces of sh­rapnel from the war, in his head” and faces a new battle every­day: The sur­vival in time of pe­ace. “Ya. That’s all i have to say.”

J-Wow is the driving force and one of the main producers in Buraka Som Sistema. After touring with the band around the world, wowing audiences from Coachella in California to Melt Festival in Berlin, from Fujirock in Japan to Bestival in the UK, now it’s time for a break! And like they say “a change is as good as a rest”, J-WOW has been working on some fun and inventive new material for his solo project.

His first release, Klang, is out 15 March on Deadly Records. The track is a delightful listen, and an ambient and melodic departure, which J-Wow says came about in an stress-free, organic sort of way. “I came back from Thailand, sat down in the studio and Klang happened.” This will be followed quickly by a much more main room smasher, “O Dedo” on Diplo’s Mad Decent label in April.
