After 2 years spent DJing in the major clubs of Lisbon and Oporto, Joel Ildefonso aka Diamond Bass decided to add a more personal sound to his sets, creating his own productions. In the last year he has shared decks with scene leaders such as Sinden, J-WOW, Benga, Zombies For Money, WILDLIFE!, Octa Push and more, playing his trademark mix of House/Kuduro/Baile Funk/Dubstep in clubs across the globe. Along the way he has picked up support from a range of international press such as XLR8R, Vice and Generation Bass.

Portuguese artists’ taste for African and Brazilian sounds comes from the long social and historical context the countries have shared, and artists/producers like Diamond Bass – alongside Buraka, Daniel Haaksman, Radioclit, Douster and Schlachthofbronx to name a few – are showcasing this in a new kind of House music, bringing traditional rhythms to the club.
