The global bass powerhouse and the finest purveyors of the Angolan electronic phenomenon we’ve come to know as kuduro are crossing the Atlantic for two weeks of intense booty shaking. Setting their sights on the bass-hungry crowds of Vancouver to Mexico City and everything in between, Buraka Som Sistema will bring their road-tested lusophone party vibes to eight different cities, from July 31st to August 11th.
Expect dancefloor riots coming your way as the gang comes fully stocked with a wide selection of club bangers, especially from their emotionally-charged sophomore album ‘Komba’, as well as the instantly recognizable party-starters such as Sound of Kuduro, Kalemba (Wegue Wegue) and Luanda-Lisboa . If you need to freshen up your memory on the lyrics to the songs you’ll be shouting at the top your lungs in a few days, check out Buraka’s iTunes page for all that juicy kuduro madness you know and love.
Last but not least, to get into the mood and to get to know what the guys are up to these days, don’t forget to check out NME‘s report on Lisbon’s Optimus Alive festival, where Buraka joined headliners Justice and The Stone Roses for an unforgettable night, ending with the British music magazine claiming that the guys “drew perhaps the biggest crowd of the evening, packing out the Heineken stage for their party-starting performance”. So check the dates on the flyer and don’t forget to grab Candonga, one of the tracks from Buraka’s sophomore album ‘Komba’, now available as a free download on the Soundcloud player below.
